Victoria Sharp, Director of Avanti Networking Group, Ipswich, has won her fight in a 'Blue Collar' charity boxing match raising over £500 for children and young people with cancer.
The charity boxing match saw Victoria go head to head with a fellow 'Blue Collar' boxer, having undertaken the challenge to get fit and raise funds for CLIC Sargent.
The hugely successful event, ‘Double Trouble’ is run by local entrepreneur and gym owner Matt Brennan and was held at Liquid nightclub in Ipswich.
Victoria said: “Even though I enjoyed the intensive training leading up to the fight, nothing had prepared me for how exhausting the fight itself would be.
"I just kept telling myself that one night for six minutes is just a moment in time compared to a child going through cancer for months, years or even life.”
Victoria committed herself to raising £400 for CLIC Sargent but in the final days leading up to the fight managed to smash her target with the help of fellow Avanti members to well over £500.
Ongoing support for CLIC Sargent
This challenge is not the first time an Avanti member has put themselves in the thick of it. Ten brave team members also took on the Insane Terrain Mud Challenge for CLIC Sargent. To date, Avanti staff members have raised in excess of £4,500 for CLIC Sargent.
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Daisy Turner said: “Avanti Networking Group has shown outstanding support for CLIC Sargent throughout the partnership but this challenge really pushed Victoria to her limits.
"We are thrilled that Victoria is so committed to fundraising for children and young people with cancer but hope that she won’t be in the ring again too soon – it was far too nerve wracking to watch!”
