South Devon Bikers launch Exeter Bike Night

The South Devon Bikers started the Exeter Bike Night to create a social and friendly atmosphere for those who ‘ride’ or have a keen interest in motorcycles, to come together to raise vital funds for CLIC Sargent.

The launch saw more than 40 bikers from across the South Devon area get together for a social at The Seven Stars Hotel in Exeter.

The weekly social night takes place at 7pm every Monday at The Seven Stars Hotel, with a charitable donation of £1 per biker donated to CLIC Sargent.

Members hold a cake sale each week, and teas and coffees are available at a discounted price from the hotel.

Exeter Bike Night founder Nicolas Smith said: “The charity is close to all of our hearts at South Devon Bikers.

"I have children myself and I can imagine it would be heartbreaking to receive a childhood cancer diagnosis.

"I would like to think, if cancer ever affected one of my children, the support would be there for me."

Making a big difference

The Exeter Bike Night hopes to support CLIC Sargent for a year and make a big difference to the lives of children and young people with cancer.

CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Georgina Reed said: “We’re so pleased that Nicolas and the South Devon Bikers have organised the weekly Exeter Bike Night to raise funds for CLIC Sargent.

"The support from local bikers on the opening night was fantastic and a bright glimpse of the future for this event.”
