TV soap star to jump 10,000 feet for children and young people with cancer

Former Holby City actor Duncan Pow is joining CLIC Sargent’s World Record Skydive in Salisbury tomorrow (Saturday 14 September).

Duncan, who played consultant Linden Cullen in Holby City until 2010, will take part in the jump at Old Sarum Airfield near Salisbury. He said: “CLIC Sargent does a great job by providing support for children and young people and their families when they really need it.”

“I am proud to be raising money for a charity that provides so much support for children and young people with cancer and their families,” said Duncan, who also appeared in Sky One’s Dream Team and Doctors.

Duncan is a long-time supporter of CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people. He ran the Great South Run in 2008 and the London Marathon in 2009, and raised more than £8,000 by taking part in a special edition of BBC’s Weakest Link. His cousin died aged 16 in 2006 after being diagnosed with cancer.

Duncan will join the intrepid skydivers taking part a mass jump from at least 10,000ft over the weekend (14 and 15 September) in an attempt to set a new world record for the most tandem skydives within 24 hours.

The jumps will take place over five airfields in central and southern England, including Salisbury, and CLIC Sargent aims to raise more than £400,000 to help children and young people with cancer.
