Cakes, wigs and rapids!
After being nominated by Maine Tucker staff in January 2015, the business kicked off its fundraising with a delicious Valentines bake sale which was full of love hearts and edible treats and raised an impressive £106!
Next, staff took the plunge and signed up to the infamous Rage the Night Rapids. With a strong team of nine they managed to navigate the treacherous course with relative ease but unfortunately just missed out on securing the prestigious CLIC Sargent Cup!
Most recently in true Maine Tucker spirit the whole team donned an array of colourful wigs, marching to and from important meetings across central London in support of CLIC Sargent's Wig Wednesday.
Why CLIC Sargent?
Explaining the companies reasons for supporting CLIC Sargent, CEO, Meeta Sahni explained: "The sad reality of illness in a family is that parents often have to make the tough decision between choosing to stay at home to care for their child or going out to work to provide for their family – a heart wrenching decision.
"CLIC Sargent makes it possible for them to do both, and we are so proud to be able to raise money to support them."
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Helen Lye said: “It’s been an absolute pleasure working in partnership with Maine Tucker over the last six months. The team are always eager to take on a challenge and do so with a smile on their face.
At the moment we can only support two out of every three children who are diagnosed with cancer, and with their support we will be able to help more children and young people with cancer live life to the full.”
