Eight year old Tia has been fundraising for CLIC Sargent for the past two years, and has raised over £1,500 through her Tia's Treasures jewellery sales.
Tia’s Treasures began in 2011 when Tia was just six years old. Tia started out by creating beaded bracelets for family and friends until she soon realised that she could turn what had started out as a hobby into a fundraising enterprise, calling herself Tia’s Treasures.
Tia began donating the proceeds from the sales of her treasures to CLIC Sargent and CHECT (Childhood Eye Cancer Trust) as both charities had supported her best friend Demi who had been battling Retinoblastoma since the age of six months.
Tia’s Treasures attends many fundraising events and sells jewellery online. Her family has organised four fundraising events so far.
The first raised just under £300 for CLIC Sargent and CHECT (Childhood Eye Cancer Trust), the second raising just over £400 and the third raising an overwhelming £1,500 which was split between CLIC Sargent, CHECT, Nelson’s Journey and Tia’s Best Friend Demi who received a specially adapted laptop and many other gifts.
Tia is an inspirational young girl and CLIC Sargent would like to say a huge thank you to Tia and her mum Lisa for their continued support.
