Emma, Libby and Steph are all at different stages of treatment for cancer at Addenbrookes Hospital.
Faye Dean, the owner of both businesses, was approached by her staff following her own fundraising for CLIC Sargent, as they wanted to do something to help girls of a similar age to themselves. They came up with the idea of a ‘pamper day’ for both the girls and their mums as they deserved some special attention too.
"Everyone had a fabulous day and Faye and her staff made everyone feel so welcome"
Karen Area Roberts, CLIC Sargent Area Fundraising Manager said; "The girls had hair treatments in the morning and a good old gossip, whilst the mums had spa treatments including hot stone massages, manicures and pedicures, giving them the opportunity to relax and share their experiences. They all met up for lunch and then the girls had manicures, pedicures and facials in the afternoon whilst the mums had their hair done.
"Everyone had a fabulous day and Faye and her staff made everyone feel so welcome, nothing was too much trouble. I overheard one mum saying that she couldn’t remember the last time she had felt so relaxed, which was exactly what the day was meant to do. Both the girls and their families go through a very stressful time and to have time out like this to recharge their batteries amongst people who understand is wonderful. The day has been such a success that Faye and her team have very kindly offered to do another one later in the year."
A big thank you to everyone at Blades and The Sanctum for such a special day.
