Pupils at Abbey Primary School in Newtownards were so excited about decorating their own wigs, they couldn't wait to participate in CLIC Sargent's Wig Wednesday campaign.
On Friday 6 May, the School held its Wacky Wig Wednesday Day where staff and pupils came to school with their wigs on, to support children and young people with cancer.
Judith Colhoun, P7 teacher at Abbey Primary School, said: "It was a great fundraising event that the entire school and the staff could take part in. The children had put in serious effort and really enjoyed Wig Wednesday."
A huge success
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Fiona McCann said "A huge thank you to Abbey Primary School for supporting Wig Wednesday with such enthusiasm.
"When I looked closely at some of the wigs made by the pupils from P1 – P7, several had added messages on them like 'try to stay positive' and 'cancer we will power through it' - inspirational words from the young pupils of Abbey Primary School.
"Wacky Wig Wednesday Day was definitely a huge success."
