CLIC Sargent chosen as runners' favourite charity

The charity has been named Runners’ Favourite Charity by The Running Awards 2014 following a public vote.

Ruth Bowen, Running Events Manager at CLIC Sargent, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have been voted Runners’ Favourite Charity at The Running Awards 2014.

“We really value everyone who pulls on their trainers and takes on a run for CLIC Sargent to help children and young people with cancer, and their families. We support thousands of dedicated and enthusiastic runners every year, from the moment they sign up to crossing that finish line and beyond, and to be recognised for this support is fantastic.

“A big thank you to everyone who voted for CLIC Sargent as their favourite charity to run for – we’re really proud and are looking forward to raising awareness and funds for CLIC Sargent at the awards evening in April.”

The Running Awards 2014 will be holding an awards gala on April 11 at Grange St Paul’s Hotel, London to honour the best of the running industry. They will be raising awareness and funds for CLIC Sargent on the night.

Sam Corrick (Editor), from The Running Awards, said: “We’d like to congratulate CLIC Sargent on receiving the most votes to be named Runners’ Favourite Charity 2014. We are very proud to be working with them.  They are a fantastic charity and they faced stiff competition from a range of amazing causes.”

CLIC Sargent was up against 11 other shortlisted charities for the award.

There are plenty of opportunities throughout the year for people to take part in a running event to raise funds for CLIC Sargent. Participants are provided with plenty of support, including fundraising and training advice.
