ForeSound School of Music raises over £700 through Practice-a-thon event

Around 60 students of all ages from the music school in Winchmore Hill got involved by practicing their musical instruments for sponsorship and giving one-off donations.

ForeSound School of Music also organised a collection after their Autumn Concert event, during which the student who raised the most was awarded with the ‘Community Music Prize.’

Loved the idea

Principal and Director, Celeste Doyle said: “We loved the idea behind Practice-a-thon; having our music students use their skills to benefit their peers through raising money, whilst also receiving the benefit of lots of extra practice themselves.

“We couldn’t think of a more worthy charity or endeavour and we were thrilled that so many of our lower grade students engaged with Practice-a-thon this year!

“We initially aimed to raise £500 but were thrilled to top that at just over £700. We're so proud of our students for their effort and kindness and can’t wait to run Practice-a-thon again in 2017!”

Hot chocolate receives top marks

CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Charlie Straker said: “I had the pleasure of attending the Autumn Concert event, and I’m pleased to say that it was a fantastic night filled with great music and lovely, generous people. I’d also like to give the hot chocolate during the interval top marks!

“We rely entirely on donations to fund our vital work, so the ForeSound School of Music’s generosity will help us to ensure that all young cancer patients and their families receive the support they need from CLIC Sargent, for as long as they need it.”
