One Gloucestershire family has raised more than £1,400 for CLIC Sargent through a unique 'Have a Little Heart' campaign to celebrate their daughter, Sophie, finishing treatment.
Sophie was 10 when she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia, cancer of the blood, and since then has embarked on a journey that has touched the hearts of many.
Sophie’s ‘Have a Little Heart’ campaign was a photo sharing social media campaign that encouraged people to post a picture of themselves making a heart shape and making a text donation to CLIC Sargent.
Sophie’s mum, Lesley, said: “I wanted to start the 'Have a Little Heart' campaign because I wanted to raise awareness of CLIC Sargent.
"Fundraising is something which keeps me occupied and I see it as my way of giving something back.”
So far, throughout all of their fundraising, including the 'Have a Little Heart' campaign, the Williams family - with the help of the Gloucestershire community - have raised a huge sum of more than £19,000 for CLIC Sargent.
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Hannah Worrall said: “We are thrilled that Sophie has finished treatment and this campaign was a wonderful way to spread this lovely message. Thank you to Sophie and Lesley for all your hard work, it has certainly been very worthwhile.”
