Emma Saunders and her team of bucket collectors have been collecting at Exeter City FC and Torquay United FC to raise a combined total of £655 for children and young people with cancer.
Exeter City FC continues to be hugely supportive of CLIC Sargent and along with hosting the charity for a collection, also invited one young cancer patient to be the mascot for the day's match against Tranmere Rovers.
Emma Saunders and her team also held a collection at Torquay United FC during the club's FA trophy fourth round tie against FC United of Manchester, bringing the total raised to £655.
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager, Stephanie Cherington-Rimmell said: “What wonderful and generous clubs, fans and supporters we have in Devon.
I wish to thank not only the clubs and fans, but our amazing collectors for standing in the cold and raising such a terrific amount at both matches. And a special and big thank you to the away fans from Tranmere Rovers and FC United of Manchester for travelling such a great distance and giving so generously.”
Family away day at Exeter City FC
Exeter City’s ongoing support for CLIC Sargent will culminate later this year in the annual ‘families day’ where the club invite CLIC Sargent families from the Exeter area to a match where they will meet the players, have a tour of the ground and get to watch the exciting game, this year against Morecambe.
