Des Brown has been holding an annual golf day every summer for the last 20 years for CLIC Sargent. This year he raised a fantastic £1,540.
Des started after his granddaughter Chloe was treated at the RVI and supported by the CLIC Sargent team there.
This year’s event at Saltburn Golf Club, where it has been held for a number of years, was the golf day's 20th anniversary, as well as being Des’s 80th birthday and his Diamond Wedding anniversary.
Over the last 20 years Des has raised over £40,000 for CLIC Sargent and it hasn’t ended there as his grandaughter Chloe took part in a Great Wall of China Trek and raised over £7,000, an amazing achievement.
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Engagement Manager Lindsay Kay said: “I think it’s wonderful that Des keeps organising this event for us every year and puts his heart and soul into it.
"Every year, without fail, he manages to raise a fantastic sum of money for us and I want him to know just how grateful we are for his continued support.
"We would like to wish him all the very best for his 80th birthday and his Diamond wedding anniversary. I hope this is a wonderful year for them."
