A tattoo studio in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, tattooed more than 60 people in one day and raised an incredible £2,000 from all their hard work.
Hoards of loyal locals queued down Abingdon High Street, some for upwards of five hours, to join Acreedo in their tattoo fundraising day for two local charities: Oxfordshire Mind, a mental health charity; and CLIC Sargent.
Bella and Colin Morton, the owners of Acreedo, said: “Our team of eight wanted to fundraise simply to give back to our community by providing a fun day, but also raising awareness and money for some very important causes.
“We asked our customers which charities they would like to raise money for and it was clear from the beginning that local, mental illness, children’s and cancer support charities were the focal point. By deciding on CLIC Sargent and Oxfordshire Mind means we have all areas covered.
“Many of our staff have children so we felt giving to a children’s charity was very special to us, and what better one to choose than CLIC Sargent!”
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager James McDonald thanked the team for organising the day: “Without the support of all the brilliant staff at Acreedo and everyone who waited patiently for their tattoos on the day, CLIC Sargent simply wouldn’t be here to support young people with cancer and their families.
“We provide emotional, practical, financial and clinical support to help them cope with cancer and get the most out of life. We are there from diagnosis onwards and aim to help the whole family deal with the impact of cancer and its treatment.
“Thank you everyone!”
