A student at the Netherhall Sixth Form, Cambridge is turning heads with her new look after becoming a 'life-shaver' for CLIC Sargent.
Preethi's Big Buzz raises £1,500
Preethi braved the clippers as part of the charity’s Big Buzz campaign, which encourages people to shave their heads to support children and young people with cancer, many of whom lose their hair during treatment.
The amazing transformation was carried out by Stefano at Stefano Hair Studio, Cambridge.
Preethi said: “I was nervous about shaving my head but children and young people being treated for cancer don’t have a choice about losing their hair. I know the money is going to a fantastic cause and that is what inspired me to go through with it. So far I have raised £1,500.”
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager, Karen Roberts said: “I’d like to say a huge thank you to Preethi for becoming a ‘life-shaver’ for CLIC Sargent. I think the finished result looks amazing!
“Every day ten children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. Many will lose their hair during treatment and our Big Buzz campaign gives you the chance to show support for them by shaving your head and raising money for CLIC Sargent."
