The event took place at Newry Leisure Centre over the course of two days, and for 36 hours straight, participants swam the length of the pool to raise funds and awareness for CLIC Sargent.
Those who took part either donated or were sponsored to swim for 15 minute slots during day or 30 minute slots during the night, and for a donation businesses were given a 'shout out' in the pool as the sponsor of the dedicated hour.
As well as the swim-a-thon, there was a chance to win raffle prizes and purchase merchandise.
Amy said: "The good that will come out of the money raised is a heart warming thought and we are so proud. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in the swim-a-thon particularly all the Keenan's in Hennessy Park for coming out in force during the 36 hours. We couldn't have done it without them.
"We will continue to support CLIC Sargent in any way we can. A truly worthy cause."
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Fiona McCann said: "Many thanks to Amy and her family for joining our fight for young lives against cancer, it's an honour to have been chosen as one of two charities to benefit from this event.
"A huge thanks to all the participants, sponsors, local business who donated raffle prizes, the staff at Newry Leisure Centre and all those who donated their time and expertise to support Amy and help to make this event a great success.
"£3,000 could pay for three families to stay for a month in a CLIC Sargent Home from Home, ensuring they are close to their child during treatment and we couldn't be more grateful.
"Thank you to for joining our fight for young lives against cancer."
