Whilst taking on these races, Lochlan won the Honda Cadet Championship at Kimbolton Circuit and was runner up at the Buckmore Park Championship. Lochlan's Kimbolton Championship win was an impressive culmination of 70 individual races against 30 other drivers and he also achieved a lap record.
Lochlan is delighted to have met his fundraising target and will now continue to do all he can in 2014 to raise more funds to help support children and young people with cancer.
2014 is now a big year for Lochlan as it means moving up to the next category called Minimax where the karts race at speeds of 70mph. He will be one of the youngest in this category for up to 15 year olds.
Lochlan said: "Although I complain to dad that I need a faster, newer kart or engine I know that I am really really lucky to be able to race. This year we have supported friends who have been fund raising for CLIC Sargent and it has made me want to do something for children with cancer and their families.
"For me the best way to do this is though my karting. I want people to sponsor me for competing. I will carry the CLIC Sargent colours and logos and try to promote the charity as best I can when we are at each circuit."
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager, Karen Roberts said: "CLIC Sargent would like to congratulate Lochlan on his karting success, to thank him for hitting his fundraising target and to wish him a safe and successful 2014."
