On Wednesday 21 December CLIC Sargent staff and families at Nottingham Home from Home, Billy’s house, are celebrating Christmas in style with a festive party.
CLIC Sargent social care workers and fundraising staff are joining together so that young cancer patients and families who attend can celebrate Christmas festivities, at what can be a difficult time.
Martin Beal, who has volunteered at Billy’s House since it opened, always makes sure that Father Christmas is available to make a special appearance. Additionally, Norma the housekeeper loves an excuse to get dressed up as Santa’s helper!
Whilst Christmas is a time of celebration, for those staying in a Home from Home it can be very challenging so CLIC Sargent staff ensure there are still quiet spaces for families who need it and make sure everyone has the ability to choose when, or if, to take part.
Children and young people with cancer often have to have specialist treatment many miles from home. It costs CLIC Sargent £33 to enable a family to stay close to their child at a CLIC Sargent Home from Home for one night.
Help stop cancer costing Christmas this December by donating online today or text GIVE to 70030 to donate £5.* Thank you.
