Afternoon tea raises £150 for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

The CLIC Sargent team based at Bristol Children’s Hospital marked the end of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month with the Power of Cake.

Afternoon tea raises £150 for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

CLIC Sargent staff Rose Barton and Ann Grady organised their second cake sale in support of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and raised £153.

Staff and friends of Bristol Children’s Hospital baked delicious cakes and brought in homemade jam for the event.

Families who are currently being supported by CLIC Sargent took time out from the wards to relax and chat over tea and cake.

Doctors and nurses from the oncology wards also joined in to support the event.

A wonderful time

CLIC Sargent Social Care Coordinator Rose Barton said: “We had a wonderful time at the afternoon tea and are very grateful to everyone who baked and bought the fabulous cakes and scones.

“It was a lovely opportunity to see so many families and colleagues from both the hospital and our Bristol office, as well as raising money and awareness of childhood cancer. Thank you to everyone for contributing.”

CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Victoria Williams said: “The team have raised a fantastic amount and it’s amazing to see the generosity of the families and staff at the hospital.

“Every penny raised will help provide vital support for children and young people with cancer, and their families. Thank you.”
