A Sheffield-based healthcare firm has donated £10,000 to one of the UK's leading cancer charities after its CEO matched the money raised at a charity golf competition.
Players competed for honours at the annual 'B. Braun for Children' European Charity Golf Cup while raising money for CLIC Sargent.
Held at Breadsall Priory Hotel and Country Club near Derby, the event attracted golfers from across Europe. The competition was divided into three sections to cater for all abilities playing the championship course.
The event, which has been held annually since 2007, raised £5,000 which was matched by B. Braun Medical Ltd Group Chief Executive Hans Hux. This took the donation to CLIC Sargent to £10,000.
Chris Clark, managing director of B. Braun Avitum (UK) Ltd, said: "B. Braun for Children is an initiative through which all the companies in our group each support one project to benefit children in their country and the local regions where they are active."
CLIC Sargent provided a great deal of valuable support to one of our colleagues during a very difficult time when he lost his son to cancer.
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager for Yorkshire, Stephen Jackett said: "Every day 10 children and young people find out they have cancer and at the moment, we can only support two out of every three of those families so we're absolutely thrilled that B. Braun has made this wonderful contribution."
