Staff at catering firm wear wigs to raise £500

20 May 2015 is Wig Wednesday, when thousands of schoolsbusinesses and organisations across the UK will don their wigs to support children and young people with cancer.

Staff from catering firm Edwards & Blake donned wigs for the day, sold hairstyle inspired cakes and sweets and ran a sweepstake as part of last year's Wig Wednesday event.

Co-Founder of Edwards & Blake Shirley Edwards said: “We try to do as much as we can for charities, and because our passion is food, it was great to be able to share and sell our homemade Wig Wednesday inspired cakes to raise money and awareness for children and young people with cancer.

We are thrilled to have raised £500 for CLIC Sargent and would like to thank all our staff and customers for taking part.

CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Daisy Turner said: “We’re so pleased Edwards & Blake enjoyed getting their wigs on to take part in last year's Wig Wednesday.

“Last year CLIC Sargent supported 69 families in Norfolk alone which is why Edwards and Blake’s fundraising is so important because it helps us to continue supporting children and their families when they need it most.”
