Father and daughter, Graham and Becci Jobes, have raised £3,000 for CLIC Sargent after successfully completing a 100 mile trek challenge.
The pair took on the gruelling walk around Malmesbury, Wiltshire over one week, tackling the same 20 mile route for five consecutive days.
They decided to take on this challenge in memory of 13 year old Malmesbury schoolgirl and family friend, Georgie Brock, who sadly died of leukaemia in 2009.
Georgie’s grandmother, Jennie Brock, joined the pair in walking for a few miles to show her gratitude for their commitment in raising funds for children and young people with cancer.
CLIC Sargent’s fundraising manager, Sophie Porfirio attended the Jobes family cheque presentation evening. It was an emotional occasion for all, with Malmesbury’s mayor, Ray Sanderson in attendance, showcasing some great anecdotes from Graham and Becci’s 100 mile journey.
The pair raised an incredible £6,000 from their challenge, half of which was donated to CLIC Sargent.
Thank you to Graham and Becci for their incredible strength in completing this venture, and to Jennie Brock and her family for their continual support to CLIC Sargent.
