Brenda Fisher from Newcastle, County Down has raised over £4,000 for CLIC Sargent’s Northern Ireland Homes from Home Appeal, by taking part in a Big Buzz head shave.
After her son JJ was supported by CLIC Sargent through his cancer treatment, Brenda Fisher wanted to give something back to the charity.
She decided to take part in CLIC Sargent’s Big Buzz, the event that gives people the chance to show their support for children and young people with cancer by getting creative with their hair.
Brenda and her family and friends, also organised a charity night, which included entertainment, ballots and prizes that helped raise additional funds for CLIC Sargent.
The money they raised will go towards helping to fund two Homes from Home at locations within walking distance of the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children and the Belfast City and Northern Ireland Cancer Centre, where young people with cancer are treated.
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager, Gemma McCallan said: "Brenda, her family and friends have been fantastic raising such a huge amount of money for the Homes from Home Appeal.
“Brenda’s head shave was certainly a brave decision and we would like to thank her for all her support and raising an incredible amount of money."
