Over the last 12 months, staff at the Carnon Downs Surgery in Truro, Cornwall have been taking on challenges and organising events to raise a record fundraising target of £5,078.75 for CLIC Sargent.
From coffee mornings to a continental cycle ride, everyone in the team has been involved in raising this staggering amount for the charity.
Dr Alison Flanagan and Assistant Practitioner, Kathy James organised a 350 mile, six day team cycle from Paris to Cornwall last September. Other events have included Jubilee celebrations, a Christmas coffee morning, staff socials and daffodil sales in the surgery.
Members of staff, patients and people from the community have shown their support for the surgery through generous sponsorship and donations.
The Practice Manager, Sally Rickard said: “We all really enjoy our charity work and have been delighted to work with and support CLIC Sargent this year. We have exceeded all our expectations this year by raising this amazing amount.”
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager, Stephanie Cherington-Rimmell said: “We are delighted that the team at Carnon Downs Surgery chose to support CLIC Sargent this year and take on such an ambitious target.
“I would like to thank everyone at the surgery for their involvement, especially the patients whose support for the staff and the events has been incredible. £5,078.75 will go a long way to help us support children and young people with cancer in Cornwall and across the UK.”
