Tony Bagwell from Taunton has travelled the distance of Britain’s coastline to raise over £24,000 for children and young people with cancer, and their families.
Tony attends community group meetings to present a number of audio-visual sequences, collecting generous donations for CLIC Sargent. December marked Tony’s 416th presentation.
Tony said: “Doing these presentations has taken me all over Somerset, and occasionally well beyond, and the generosity of the people I meet is wonderful.
"Most have heard of CLIC Sargent and sometimes someone will come up and tell me how the charity has helped a member of their particular family. That makes my efforts worthwhile.”
Making a difference
Tony had a family connection to CLIC Sargent and has supported the charity for over 20 years. He has given 416 ‘Fading Image’ presentations, travelling almost 11,500 miles and has raised a huge £24,107.
These ‘Fading Images’ are presented with commentary or accompanying music, covering topics from local scenery, local history, travel, gardens, railways and motor sport.
As a past chairman of Taunton Camera Club for several years and being the photo editor for the Swiss Railways Society magazine, Tony boasts great interest and experience in photography.
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Hannah Worrall said: “It is wonderful that Tony puts both his interests and experiences to fantastic use, raising much needed funds for CLIC Sargent. Thank you Tony for your loyal support.”
