14-year-old Izzy has raised £600 by chopping off 13 inches of hair in aid of CLIC Sargent.
Izzy braved the scissors in December at 10 Hairdressing, Bristol and was watched and encouraged by excited friends and family.
Izzy said: “The haircut went really well, I got a really good reaction from all my friends and teachers. My tutor made the class all clap when I walked into registration which was cool.
“It was all worth it as I’ve raised nearly £600 for CLIC Sargent. I was keen to support the charity because of the help they are giving to my three-year-old cousin Ted, who is being treated for a bilateral Wilms’ tumour.”
Supporting young cancer patients
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Victoria Williams said: “I’d like to say a huge thank you to Izzy taking on the scissors and getting the big chop for CLIC Sargent. I think the finished result looks amazing!
“Every day 10 children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. Many will lose their hair during treatment and our Big Buzz campaign gives you the chance to show support for them by shaving your head and raising money for CLIC Sargent.
“At the moment we can only help two out of three children and young people diagnosed with cancer. We want to reach as many as possible and with your support we can do this.”
There is still time to sponsor Izzy online on her official JustGiving page.
