Staff from branches of One Stop convenience stores across the north east and Cumbria, took part in a sponsored walk in support of CLIC Sargent and one store manager's son during his cancer treatment.
One Stop staff walk
The group were lucky with the weather as it was a beautiful day. Some members of the group dressed up in onesies and one carried a 16k weight on his back the whole way!
The walk started in Blythv at 11am and followed the coastline route, arriving in Tynemouth at 2pm where they were met by CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager, Dee Tyler.
One Stop Store Manager and the father of the boy receiving cancer treatment said: “The support of the One Stop staff has been brilliant and hopefully this walk will raise a lot of money for CLIC Sargent.”
Dee Tyler said: “The family have been through an awful lot over the last year and it’s great to know that the staff at One Stop is continuing to show their support by raising money for CLIC Sargent.
“The money raised will help CLIC Sargent provide vital services including providing nurses and care professionals at the RVI and Freeman Hospital, giving grants to help families meet extra costs and offering holidays.”
One Stop's continued support
This is the second time in a year that the convenience store has raised money for CLIC Sargent, with 13 stores joining One Stop Area Manager Stephen Blades in a raffle of life-sized teddy bears which raised over £2,000.
