The London-based Charm Committee have been fundraising for CLIC Sargent since 2010. During this time they have raised over £19,000 to help support children and young people with cancer.
The Charm Committee, whose members are all over the age of 65, was founded by Truda Crown, after her husband died of cancer.
The committee have been fundraising together for more than 28 years, raising over £800,000 for cancer charities. Sadly, after almost 30 years of fundraising together, they have decided to close down the committee.
The 10 committee members and their supporters have worked extremely hard to raise vital funds for CLIC Sargent, however they have found this increasingly difficult as the years have gone by.
The Charm Committee held two to four events every year in and around north west London, including luncheons, quizzes and an annual tea dance.
CLIC Sargent fundraising manager, Elizabeth Charing said: “We are extremely grateful for the support and dedication the Charm Committee have shown to CLIC Sargent over the past three years. They have been an absolute pleasure to work with and have raised an incredible £19,400 to support our work with children and young people with cancer.
“CLIC Sargent, simply, would not be the charity it is today without the loyal, and quite wonderful dedication of voluntary fundraising groups such as the Charm Committee. Thank you for working with us to improve the lives of children and young people with cancer".
