CLIC Sargent’s Fantasy Ball has raised around £100,000 for the children and young people’s cancer charity.
The theme of this year’s ball was Once Upon a Time and guests were transported to a mystical fairy tale world for the evening at the Underglobe, in London’s Bankside on Thursday March 5.
TV and radio presenter Gaby Roslin hosted the event and encouraged guests to pledge donations. She also introduced Ryan Dustan, whose family was supported by CLIC Sargent when his son Oscar was diagnosed with leukaemia.
He told the audience how important CLIC Sargent was to his family while his little boy was ill, especially the social worker provided by the charity.
There was also a moving performance from Sim Pattison, whose girlfriend Ellie Sedgwick was supported by CLIC Sargent when she had Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
Guests were invited to bid in both live and silent auctions with the top lots including a beautiful Picasso, private dinner party and stay in a Small Luxury Hotel in a location of the winners’ choice.
CLIC Sargent Major Events Manager Hannah Gripton said: “The Once Upon A Time Fantasy Ball was a tremendous success and we’re delighted to have raised in the region of £100,000. This will go towards the vital support CLIC Sargent provides for children and young people, and their families, whose lives have been affected by cancer.
“We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who made this an event a success, including the Fantasy Ball committee, our sponsors and those who donated auction prizes.”
