Making it count
Emerging out of the Safari-themed play frame area to launch the relationship in style was Peppa Pig, keen to get in on the action by trying out CLIC Sargent's Leap Day Challenge.
CLIC Sargent Area Fundraising Manager Peter Logie said: "I was delighted to receive a call from Lisa saying that they had chosen to support CLIC Sargent and the timing was perfect as we are getting all excited about this Leap Year, where we are encouraging schools and youth groups to take part in our Leap Day Challenge to do anything around the number 29 like, 29 leapfrogs, 29 press ups, bake 29 cakes or a 29 minute sponsored silence.
"A Leap Year means everyone gets an extra day and on 29 February CLIC Sargent will be providing around 850 hours of support to young cancer patients, so we want folks to make their Leap Day count by donating time or money to help CLIC Sargent do this.”
Lunch with Peppa
Lisa Lugton, joint owner of Frankie and Lola's, added: "We are delighted to support CLIC Sargent in their mission to give every child who is supported by CLIC Sargent, the right to the best possible treatment, care, and support, throughout their cancer journey and beyond.
"We are very excited to be making our leap year count by hosting a ‘Lunch with Peppa’ event on Monday 29 February.
"Normally closed on a Monday, we are opening especially for this to help raise funds for CLIC Sargent. This two hour event is already shaping up to be a whole lot of fun and Peppa has marked it in her diary.
"Spaces are limited, to book your space, please contact the unit directly on 01463 262 362 or in person. More details about the event itself will be available on social media and our website shortly."
