Cornwall communities pulled together during the Christmas holidays for the Cornish Christmas Countdown, raising an amazing £3,000 for children and young people with cancer.
28 schools, businesses and community groups supported CLIC Sargent with a virtual advent calendar of fundraising, the Cornish Christmas Countdown.
The county had 28 events across 24 days in December. From Looe Valley Singers performing carols at the Eden Project, to 58 participants running the Mad Hatter Sports Events “Say Pants to Cancer Fun Run” in their pants, the county was filled with fun and festivity in support of CLIC Sargent.
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager, Georgina Reed, said: “We are thrilled that so many Cornish schools and businesses joined us for the Cornish Christmas Countdown in 2014.
"The total amount raised from the Christmas fundraising could pay for 100 stays in one of CLIC Sargent’s Homes from Home where many Cornish families stay to be close to their child during treatment.
"We would like to thank everyone involved with the Cornish Christmas Countdown for making a huge difference to the lives of children and young people with cancer, and their families.”
