The CLIC Sargent Online Community is a space for 16 to 24 year olds who have, or have had, cancer to chat and share experiences with others. It's also a place for members to connect to experts who can offer them professional advice through Ask The Expert sessions. CLIC Sargent is excited to host the next Ask The Expert session on Thursday 12 May at 7.30pm.
Ask The Expert is a one-hour long Q&A, giving Community members the chance to ask questions on a specific topic and have them answered live by an expert.
The theme for the session on 12 May is friendship, after CLIC Sargent identified this as a key topic of conversation for young people affected by cancer.
Community members will be able to send questions in advance as well as live during the session. Our expert is bestselling author, advice columnist and agony uncle Matt Whyman, who took the reins of CLIC Sargent’s fantastic first Ask The Expert session on relationships back in December.
Questions on friendship
Our Online Community members are invited to post questions to Matt and can do so anonymously should they wish. Questions posted with the hashtag #friendshipexpert will reach Matt to be answered on the night – he is poised and ready to tackle the subjects closest to young cancer patients’ hearts and minds.
Questions on friendship could range from explaining diagnosis or treatment to friends, feeling isolated from school/college mates, and how to keep in touch with friends when receiving treatment.
