Visit Oxfordshire, the destination management organisation for Oxford and Oxfordshire, has chosen CLIC Sargent as its charity of the year for 2013.
About the partnership
The partnership was officially launched on 20 March 2013 with an open evening at the Visitor Information Centre which saw Visit Oxfordshire partners join together for an evening of networking.
Throughout the year, Visit Oxfordshire will be promoting CLIC Sargent's work and services to its visitors and partners.
Jo Butler, head of tourism and marketing at Visit Oxfordshire said: “ We are excited about our new partnership with CLIC Sargent. We want to help to raise the profile of the wonderful work undertaken by this charity to both visitors to the county and local residents”
About the company
Visit Oxfordshire champions tourism in Oxfordshire and promotes the county to both domestic and international visitors, helping them to discover what makes Oxfordshire so unique as a world class visitor destination.
Visit Oxfordshire will be encouraging other companies in the region to support CLIC Sargent through the new 20:20 Oxfordshire Business Challenge, a new campaign that aims to bring together local businesses to raise £20,000 for the charity.
The organisation will also be encouraging local people and visitors to the area, to recycle their unwanted mobile phones, MP3 players and foreign coins in the Visitor Information Centre on Broad Street, Oxford. All items collected will then be donated to CLIC Sargent to help raise money through the charities recycling scheme.
