Two of our volunteers have been nominated in the Charity Staff Foundation Awards 2016 for their tireless contribution as CLIC Sargent Representatives.
CLIC Sargent Representatives, Elisha Searl and Shaun King, will attend the 2016 Charity Staff Foundation awards ceremony on Friday, 4 March in London.
As representatives, Elisha and Shaun help represent CLIC Sargent in local communities. They are our eyes, ears, and most importantly, our voice.
Elisha is a CLIC Sargent Representative in Plymouth and she helps with a whole array of activities.
Most recently, she took a leading role helping to organise our Bournemouth Hero-Abseil.
Elisha has been nominated in the Community Volunteer of the Year category.
She said: "I love the variety of volunteering CLIC Sargent has to offer. I have been involved with the charity in so many different ways.
"Being part of the participation group, visiting the House of Lords and presenting talks about the charity and my cancer journey are a few of my highlights."
To be noticed and nominated by the charity who not only encouraged me to volunteer but also strongly supported me and my family through my cancer journey is heartwarming.
Shaun represents CLIC Sargent in Kent and has also got the school he works at involved in fundraising. Last year, he took on a personal challenge of trekking Snowden.
He is nominated for Healthcare Volunteer of the Year.
Shaun said: "Being able to do my bit in giving something back to CLIC Sargent for what they did for my Alison, me and my family is great.
"As a CLIC Sargent Representative I get to meet some great people, tell them my story and what drives me to do what I do.
"Those people put themselves out to help others that are going through the same as I did with my family and I am able, on behalf of CLIC Sargent, to go and meet them all."
CLIC Sargent Head of Volunteering Jennifer Harries said: "At CLIC Sargent, we are so proud of all of our volunteer’s efforts and achievements, as well as grateful for the thousands of hours given by volunteer every year to help support our work.
"Please join us in thanking Elisha and Shaun for their time and wishing them luck at Friday’s awards!"
