The Swan Inn, Tytherington has hosted a Halloween fundraiser where one brave supporter took part in CLIC Sargent's Big Buzz event raising over £2,200 for children and young people with cancer, and their families.
31-year-old Sophie Johnson from the Tytherington area took part in CLIC Sargent hair shaving fundraising, The Big Buzz.
Sophie started by selling bunches of her hair for upwards of £5 each! Bidding then moved onto half a head of shaved hair which was won by Sophie's Dad Hugh Johnson and a longstanding family friend Jerry Bull for £150.
The event raised in excess of £2,200 with the help of a local band ‘The Honkey Tonks’, a raffle and commissions from The Body Shop all adding to the sponsorship from the main event.
Sophie said: “I would like to thank everyone who has, and still is contributing so generously.”
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager, Hannah Worrall said: “It was such a brilliant evening, Sophie did a great job rallying up so many generous people all in one place.
"Thank you very much indeed to everyone who contributed to such a phenomenal total – well done Sophie!”
