The thriving community of Newton Flotman enjoyed a day of fun in the sunshine complete with football tournament, barbecue, raffle and tombola to raise vital funds for CLIC Sargent.
The event was organised by Newton Flotman Football Club chairman, Graham Burgess and his wife Jacky, supported by daughter Francesca and youngest son David.
The event was run with support from Newton Flotman Football Club and featured a match between players from the past 15 years against a group of current teenage players.
The day included a football demonstration from the current club youngsters, in addition to a barbecue, car boot sale, and various stalls including homemade cakes and plants, plus lots of other attractions for all age groups.
Overwhelmed by the outpouring of support the day received, Graham said: “There were so many examples of generous support but one that sticks out for me was an elderly lady who called and said she had some new cuddly toys to donate, she later provided no less than 10.
"We are so grateful to everyone who contributed to the success of the day and are thrilled to have raised in excess of £1,200 which will go a long way to supporting families coping with childhood cancer.”
"The amount raised by this wonderful community will help support these and families across the UK.”
