Seven year old Hatti raised £169.10 for CLIC Sargent, by asking her friends to join her for a run on her birthday and to donate money instead of giving her presents.
Donations instead of presents
Hatti was feeling under the weather on her birthday this year so had to cancel her party on 23 January.
After the disappointment of the cancellation, Hatti decided that she did not want a birthday party; instead she wanted to do a run with her friends and raise money for CLIC Sargent.
Hatti’s mum, Michelle, said: “We had no idea where the motivation to raise money for CLIC Sargent came from.
"Hatti just came up to us one day and told us she did not want her friends to give her birthday presents, she wanted them to give her money so that she could help children with cancer."
We are really proud of Hatti and think what she has done is amazing.
Hatti and her friends participated in the muddy Lanhydrock 5k Park Run to celebrate her 7th birthday and raised an amazing £169.10 to support children and young people with cancer.
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager, Georgina Reed said: “We’re so pleased that Hatti and her friends have shown their support for CLIC Sargent.
"We are incredibly grateful to Hatti for choosing to raise money instead of receiving birthday presents this year. She is a fantastically generous young lady.”
