Supporters of Qwaz's charity have raised a further £1,000 for CLIC Sargent at their annual fundraiser, bringing the running total raised for children and young people with cancer to £11,100.
This event was held at St Joseph's Social Club in Wembley and saw more than 300 people come together to raise funds in memory of Dee Loader (nee Kelly) and Steve Walsh who both died of cancer.
CLIC Sargent was Dee's chosen charity and the evening was attended by her family, friends and the many generous supporters of the charity.
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Catherine Cadman said: "I want to say a huge thank you to Qwaz’s charity for their continued support. With the £1,000 from this recent event they have raised £11,100 altogether, which is incredible!
"This could pay for a CLIC Sargent Nurse for two and a half months, so that they can coordinate clinical and non-clinical care for children with cancer, to maximise the amount of time they can safely spend at home, and ensure that treatments can be given closer to home where possible.
"It just goes to show that without the efforts of our supporters, we would not be able to carry out our work, so we really do appreciate everything that they do.”
