James and Jake cycle Studham to Amsterdam
Setting off from Studham, Jake Hansard and James Kefford cycled a tough 120 miles to Harwich on route to Amsterdam. Arriving in the pitch black at around 7pm and sore, they caught up on some well-earned rest.
The following morning they caught the ferry to the Hook of Holland arriving at around 5pm. They then cycled to The Hague, a beautiful city and the opening of the Oktoberfest.
Friday taught them a lesson for participating in the Oktoberfest as they cycled 50 miles along the flat cycle paths and therapeutic canals of Holland all the way to Amsterdam.
They returned on the Saturday from the Hook of Holland overnight, safe and sound with very tired legs and having raised £1877.08 smashing their personal target.
Team takes on the Stanbridge 64 miler
Ian Burnage, Gareth Butterworth, Ric Francis and Martin Wilkinson took on the 64 mile route through the Chiltern Hills taking in the delights of Wendover Woods, Ivinghoe Beacon and Bison Hill at Whipsnade.
The team raised £1,074 and are already talking about next year!
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Harriet Young said: "After visiting Studham back in September I could see a real passion for all involved.
"I am amazed at how much effort and support the whole community have provided us, a fantastic new achievement! I am excited to see what next year brings."
