The store created its own version of a CLIC Sargent Home from Home and invited customers in to sit down and find out more about the charity and it’s work in the Swindon area.
CLIC Sargent Homes from Home provide families with free self-catered accommodation allowing them to stay close to their child during treatment, rather than travelling on average 60 miles each day to the hospital and back. Homes from Home allow families to spend more time together being families.
Hit the ground running
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager James McDonald said: “Sainsbury’s Swindon has kicked off their local charity of the year partnership and really hit the ground running, raising around £500 already.
“The staff are brilliantly engaged and are planning loads of events for colleagues and customers to participate in and have fun fundraising. It’s going to be a great year!”
The launch event took place during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, an international campaign that takes place each September to raise awareness of the impact of childhood cancer.
