Phil Landricombe from Plymouth, celebrated his 60th birthday by throwing a Rat Pack themed party in aid of CLIC Sargent.
More than £850 was raised at Phil’s birthday celebration, where over 100 guests enjoyed entertainment by local musicians as well as various fundraising activities across the night.
Activities included a prize raffle, the sale of a collection of life-size cardboard famous movie star cut-outs, and Phil’s sister, Eileen, having her hair shaved to add an additional £100 to the charity pot!
Phil said: “We put out invitations asking for no presents and instead donations to CLIC Sargent. There is nothing I needed and it seemed better to do something for a much more worthy cause. I knew my family wouldn’t hold back.
CLIC Sargent fundraising manager Sarah Shaw said: “It is amazing how fantastically generous Phil has been on his special birthday. Fundraising like this is so important to CLIC Sargent so that we can provide all of the care that’s needed to children and young people with cancer, and their families.”
