Leeds District night nurses' sponsored walk raises over £750

Janet Jenks and Chris Grange organised the three stage, 14 mile walk along the Leeds Country Way route from Golden Acre Park to Barwick in Elmet, after three members of the team had family who'd been helped by CLIC Sargent.

They wanted to say a huge thank you on behalf of those families and give something back to CLIC Sargent in the process.

Fabulous day

Janet said: “We had a fabulous day involving lots of laughs and chat, and thankfully, the weather was wonderful! There were seven adults, three children and a dog that took part, with each sporting CLIC Sargent t-shirts.

"Taking part were four who work at the Leeds District Nursing Night Service, a prison warden, a deputy manager from Coral Racing and I now work in the cardiology department at Leeds General Infirmary."

CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Stephen Jackett said: "These guys have done an amazing job in organising the sponsored walk. Their fundraising efforts will make a real difference in supporting more families as they go through their cancer journey."
