The CLIC Sargent Running team's star of the month is Isla Hamilton.
Here, Isla talks about her experience as a CLIC Sargent volunteer and how it inspired her to take on her own challenge in support children and young people with cancer, and their families.
"I first got involved with CLIC Sargent in May 2013 when I volunteered at the Aberdeen Baker Hughes 10k. I volunteered with CLIC Sargent as a marshal and spent the morning chatting to spectators and cheering on the runners.
"The following week I volunteered at the Edinburgh Marathon Festival. Volunteering that day I got to meet some wonderful and inspirational people and also got to hear from people directly who have been supported by CLIC Sargent.
"I would definitely recommend volunteering with CLIC Sargent at a running event. There is always a great atmosphere and you get to share in the achievement of so many fantastic runners and fundraisers!
"I was really inspired that day and the weeks following the Edinburgh Marathon, I started to get a few of my friends together and signed us all up for the Great Scottish Run.
"When I first signed my team up for the Great Scottish Run most of us could hardly run for ten minutes let alone complete ten kilometres!
"We got fundraising straight away – getting sponsored from friends and family, selling football cards and we organised a last minute charity quiz night where we raised over £500.
"I’ve signed up again for the Great Scottish Run this October and I have rallied together even more friends and family for my running team. Last year we had nine taking part and raised over £1,000!
"This year we’ve doubled the amount of runners in the team and hopefully we can raise more than double the amount for CLIC Sargent."

We are also looking for volunteers to cheer on our amazing runners on race day. All you need is enthusiasm and a loud cheer!
