Julie Pitfield and Karen Shields hosted a Black Tie and Sparkle Ball in aid of CLIC Sargent, raising a fantastic £1,200 for children and young people with cancer.
Over 100 fabulously attired guests attended the James Bond themed event at the Aztec West Hotel in February.
After enjoying a lovely meal, the entertainment began. Local businesses provided excellent raffle prizes and the guests generously bought up the tickets in support of the cause.
They were also invited to try their luck at the casino table and the DJ kept everyone on the dancefloor through the night.
Choosing CLIC Sargent
Julie Pitfield, one of the event organisers, said: “We wanted to choose a charity whose cause would resonate with our friends and guests and hopefully had some local connections, so we decided upon CLIC Sargent.
"CLIC founder Bob Woodward had built houses in the local area that a number of our guests still reside in today.
“When we discussed our chosen charity with our friends who were helping us organise the event, we discovered that their daughter-in-law had been helped by CLIC Sargent as a young child; this reinforced our belief that we’d made the right choice.”
The organisers would like to thank all of the local business who donated raffle prizes; The Edge Health & Beauty, Wickwar Brewery, The Park Hotel, Safe-and-Sound Shooting, North Somerset Bird Of Prey Centre, Wyevale Garden Centre, Highfield Garden World, Batsford Arboretum, Brickhampton Court Golf Complex, Bristol Golf Club, Tetbury Audi, Max Events, Bath Golf Club, Bath Rugby Club, Cotswold Edge Golf Club, Gloucester Ski Centre, Fleet Air Arm Museum, Noah's Ark Zoo Farm and all the other individuals who kindly donated prizes on the night.
