We are so lucky to have so many inspirational people that go the extra mile by taking on a challenge to raise money for children and young people with cancer, and their families.
Their hard work and dedication to the cause is outstanding. Here is an amazing story from Tom Crisford the CLIC Sargent star challenger of the month.
Tom's four-year-old son Samuel was diagnosed with a Wilms Tumor in 2014. CLIC Sargent has helped to support him and his family during this difficult time
Tom explains: "CLIC Sargent has been a great support to us and particularly the CLIC Court in Oxford where we stayed during some of Samuel’s treatment."
Samuel has undergone major surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy during his treatment. He recently lost his hair too, so his dad and godfather took part in CLIC Sargent's Big Buzz and shaved their heads so that they could all match.
Tom says: “Whilst the original target for this was £300 we have been amazed with the support that we have received and in total we have raised approximately £3,200 to date."
This was certainly one of the most rewarding and amazing things I have ever been involved with.
Inspired by Samuel’s courage, his dad Tom has now decided to cycle over 300 miles from London to Paris in July 2015 to raise funds for children and young people with cancer, and their families.
