I never knew how expensive supporting a child with cancer can be but this fantastic charity were there to help. They call it a home from home and it was. Although you couldn't hug them because of COVID, they were a shoulder to cry on.

How CLIC House got its name

The house was bought in 1984 and opened as CLIC House to support families of children going through cancer treatment in 1986. It was named CLIC House by founder of CLIC, Bob Woodward.

The house kept its original name and continues to provide refuge and comfort for families, close to the nearby hospital. Bristol Royal Hospital for Children is the only principle treatment centre for childhood cancer in the South West. The number of families requiring accommodation and support from CLIC Sargent led to acquisition of a second Home from Home in Bristol, Sam’s House in 2002.
