Well done to our team of 50 altitude seeking participants who dared to whizz 300 metres in the air across the River Clyde for children and young people with cancer, and their families.

Zip Slide the Clyde (April) 2016

The event

The rain didn't stop our fantastic participants who braced the elements to take on the first of our 150ft high 'Zip slide over the Clyde' challenges this year.

Together we raised over £11,000 for children and young people with cancer and their families, and this could help pay for 11 families to stay in one of CLIC Sargent's Homes from Home for a month.

Friends and family were watching from the side-lines, cheering on their loved ones as they took to the air on the fabulous sunny morning in Glasgow.

Participants' at all different levels of fitness put themselves through their paces to take on the challenge.

CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Katie Grier said: "We are absolutely delighted with the turn out for the Zipslide each year. This year the event sold out in record time - showing us that it’s as popular as ever.

"It's fantastic to see people conquering their fears to help families across Scotland. This year we had a lot of people taking part in support and sadly, some in memory of a cghildren and yopung people that the charity has supported.

"For the first time ever, the charity has had to include a third event in one year. The May event is sold out and already bookings are being taken for September."
