More than 100 dare-devils haven taken part in a 13,000ft skydive at Beccles Airfield in Suffolk, raising £42,000 for CLIC Sargent.
The CLIC Sargent Suffolk Skydive Challenge, which was postponed on three occasions due to snow, rain and wind, has surpassed all expectations.
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager, Alison Ramsay, who organised the event said: “I was thrilled with the response I had to this event, with many business teams and individuals from across the east of England throwing themselves into their fundraising to throw themselves out of a plane!”
103 people in total pledged to take part in the skydive from a 13,000ft leap, to help raise this huge amount for children and young people with cancer.
Top fundraisers, Neil Browning and Alan Miles from Norwich, smashed the set target for all participants of £300, raising an astonishing £3,970. The pair were rewarded with free photos and a DVD of their jump, kindly donated by the skydive centre.
Debbie Rees from Swaffham, Norfolk took part in the skydive event. She said: “I was so scared on the day but it was really worth it. Our whole team had a most amazing time and we would do it again in a second for CLIC Sargent.”
A very big thank you to UK Parachuting for all its help in organizing the event, and of course to all our participants and generous supporters that helped raise the £42,000 in sponsorship.
