The University of Virginia University Singers are to perform at unique London music venue St John’s Smith Square for CLIC Sargent - and you are invited along!
The University of Virginia University Singers will present their 2015 International Tour Programme, including works of Whitacre, Biebl, Pärt, Finzi, Lukaszewski, and several American folk and spiritual selections.
The concert takes place at St John’s Smith Square, a masterpiece of English Baroque architecture, designed and built by Thomas Archer.
The venue has survived fire, lightning, bomb plots and the Blitz. The beauty of the building is matched by an exceptional acoustic and from its restoration as both church and concert hall in the late 1960s, St John’s has presented some of the finest classical talent in a programme featuring choirs, chamber orchestras and period instrument groups.
All proceeds from this concert are being kindly donated to CLIC Sargent, to support children and young people with cancer, and their families.
