Supporting the charity
Tournament organiser Danny Lee, said: "I’m very proud to be running the CLIC Sargent Channel VAS Squash Tournament to help promote squash to people in Surrey and to also raise vital funds and awareness.
"At the club we’ve seen the impact of cancer on young people first hand and this fantastic charity does so much to support children with cancer. CLIC Sargent’s team at the Royal Marsden have been there to help families limit the damage cancer causes beyond their health."
Royal Marsden Hospital
CLIC Sargent Social Worker Stephanie Andrews, based at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Sutton, said: “As a charity we are reliant upon charitable donations so without the support from events like this, social workers like me can’t be there for children, young people and their families when they need it the most.
"If a child or young person in Surrey is diagnosed with cancer, they are offered support from our service.
"Hearing that your child has cancer is devastating; It’s my job to guide them through this."
CLIC Sargent Community Fundraising Manager Helen Farquharson said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have the support of the Channel VAS Squash tournament again this year.
"We hope local residents will take this fantastic opportunity to watch some world class sporting action and join CLIC Sargent in the fight for young lives against cancer."
