The Kast-Off Kinks event, organised by Oliver Stephens, has been hailed a great success after raising £3,900 for children and young people with cancer, and their families.
TThe sell-out event at the Launceston Town Hall on Sunday 10 August blew Oliver’s £2,000 target out of the water.
The evening organised in memory of a close friend of Oliver’s who lost his battle with ‘Terry the Tumour’ was attended by over 300 music loving Kink’s fans.
Event Organiser, Oliver Stephens said: “The total raised from The Kast-Off Kinks event is £3,900, I am absolutely over the moon with this as it was almost double my target!
“The evening was a huge success and for the last week people have been telling me what an incredible evening they had. The band were fantastic, and everything ran so smoothly from lights and sound to the bar.”
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Georgina Reed said: “The dedication, commitment and hard work that Oliver has put into this event is amazing.
“We would like to thank Oliver for organising such a successful event and thank all those who attended to support Oliver and CLIC Sargent. The money raised from this event will have a huge impact on children and young people with cancer, and their families.”
